OVERVIEW

Do Ho Suh, is a Korean artist who works primarily in sculpture, installation, drawing. As a designer of this Publication piece, I mainly feature Suh’s well known series of architectural structures and objects using fabrics — which is about “act of memorialization” as the artist describes.

ROLE

As a designer, I attempt to capture the quiet atmosphere of Do Ho Suh’s work in the best way possible by curating them as I embrace the beauty of his work. With Suh’s work being grand scale, the publication itself is a wide format that makes it possible to bring that sense of scale through the publication. Also, playing with contrasting scales of images added to the dynamic and unexpected nature that Suh’s works carries. Keeping the minimalistic style choice for the overall publication helped emphasizing Suh’s pieces which is colorful yet quiet and clean.
